Amber Celebrates How To Live A Country Song

Published

on

Hot off the back of winning ‘Female Artist of the Year’ at the 2023 CMAA Toyota Golden Guitar Awards in January, Amber Lawrence is back with her first single release for the year – “Live A Country Song“.

After releasing the ARIA and Golden Guitar nominated album “Living For The Highlights” in 2022, Amber is back with a new stand-alone single that was co-written with Nick and Tom of The Wolfe Brothers. With its familiar Amber Lawrence melodies and soaring vocals, this is an energetic and fresh sound for the singer/songwriter and is definitely a song that will sit well on the festival stages throughout spring and summer this year.

The song is already proving to be a fan favourite when performed live, it’s a song that embraces all that we love about the genre, and celebrates it, and with the strong state of country music in Australia right now – what a time to celebrate!

Amber is touring far and wide in 2023, and will commence 2024 in Tamworth with her ‘Live A Country Song Tour’.

First Nations Artist Ruby Shay Releases Emotional New Single “Ragdoll” Ahead of Tamworth

Published

on

Ruby Shay, a First Nations singer-songwriter hailing from the Central Coast of New South Wales, has released her latest single, “Ragdoll,” just days before her appearance at the Tamworth Country Music Festival this Friday. The single, released through indie country label RTC Records, is a poignant alt-country track born from Shay’s teenage feelings of rejection and unworthiness. Yet, the song’s bright and fun production adds a surprising layer of hope to its deeply personal lyrics.

“This song was such fun to record,” Shay shared. “We fell in love with the idea of making this heavy song sound bright and fun.”

A proud Boorooberongal woman with Dharug heritage, Shay’s music is shaped by her challenging upbringing in foster care and her strong connections to Dharawal and Yuin communities. Inspired by artists like Missy Higgins and Fanny Lumsden, Shay’s songwriting is deeply personal, weaving stories of resilience and self-discovery.

“Ragdoll,” the first song she ever composed, came to life when after a traumatic experience, Ruby’s housemate taught her four chords. From this moment, a songwriter was born.

Catch Ruby Shay and her band, The Red Horse, as they bring their heartfelt and vibrant performances to Tamworth this festival season.
